Eorþfæst is Anglo-Saxon, Old English, and translates as earthfast, meaning fixed in the earth, firm in the earth. It would be how a standing stone or the pillar of a Saxon hall might be described. It can also be used a little more poetically to mean rooted, trustworthy, reliable.
