Disney’s live-action Snow White is off to a rough start, with one of the worst Rotten Tomatoes scores for a Disney remake. The biggest highlight? Rachel Zegler’s standout performance. She pours everything into the role, but beyond that, the film struggles. Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen feels wildly inconsistent—either over-the-top or lifeless. Her villain song, All is Fair, has fun lyrics but seems meant for a stronger singer. While she’s working with weak writing, her performance ultimately sinks under the weight of the production. Visually, the film is a mess. The costumes look oddly cheap for a big-budget movie, the CGI animals have their moments, but the backgrounds feel overly artificial. The CGI dwarfs, with exaggerated features, raise more questions than they answer. While there are some bright spots—like Whistle While You Work—the film lands flat. Disney seems aware of its misfire, even avoiding a major press push. Without Zegler, Snow White feels like a soulless, clunky remake that fails to justify its existence.
