
Brubeck wrote a number of jazz standards, including ‘In Your Own Sweet Way’ and ‘The Duke’. His long-time musical partner, alto saxophonist Paul Desmond, wrote the saxophone melody for the Dave Brubeck Quartet's, ‘Take Five’, which has endured as a jazz classic on one of the top-selling jazz albums.
'Take five' is very popular in the Netherlands. It is featured in the Top 2000 of most popular tracks ever already for the past 23 years.
This year, 2021, it is number 1194 on the list.
In 1959 it reached no 15 in the Dutch charts.
