None of our renovation experience has prepared us for the challenges posed by these old stone houses with half metre thick walls. To make improvements, everything is big, heavy, awkward, and dangerous. This week we tackled one of the hardest jobs so far, and hopefully we can say the most physically demanding part of this renovation is behind us.
We also check on the anhydrite screed that we used to level our floor, we've been worried it wouldn't dry in this weather, but things are feeling solid!
We continue the tradition we started when we bought the place, of moving old stone from one end of the property to the other, getting the old lintel, from the garden into it's new home.
We're also prepping for winter, by sealing up the many holes in the sides of this old house.
