Suprisingly capable Audioengine A2+ takes on significantly bigger Edifier R1800BT and takes the win, especially if You do not need to go loud or low on bass. American A2+ turns out to be more natural and detailed through midrange and high end than its chineese counterpart as well as being better at reproducing voices. R1800BT has too much treble that overshadows the recessed midrange in result. Obviously the bigger R1800BT also has more bass than A2+, but it also has a bit too much boost aroung 80Hz making it sound a tad boomy and unnatural. Audioengie decided to not tweak the bass as much, at least not the midbass as the upper bass also has a boost to make it sound bigger than it is, but it is done better than in R1800BT. Overall A2+ is my favorite ultracompact speaker I tested until now. What do You think? Is A2+ also sounding better to Your ears? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers!
