In the ‘90s, NBC had the youth market on lock on Saturday mornings with a variety of content geared towards the preteen and teen market. California Dreams was one of those shows included in their TNBC, or Teen NBC, programming block. Created by writers Brett Dewey and Ronald B. Solomon, who also served as producers, California Dreams premiered on September 12, 1992. It was executive produced by Peter Engel who also served as EP for the flagship TNBC series, Saved by the Bell.
