How much power does a Bug Zapper light / lantern consumes?

Do you want to turn on your bug zapper all the time (like 24/7)? If you are like my wife who has bug phobia you probably will end up turning on at least one bug zapper all the time, then you should watch this video.

This bug zapper consumes 18 watts of power when it is not zapping. When it is zapping a bug, it almost double or triples to about 50 watts of power for a split second.

If you turn on a bug zapper like the one I use in the video for a full year, 365 days, 24 hours a day, you will pay approximately $15 per year if you pay 10 cents per killowatt hour (kwh).
