This is the second video in our Print to Perform series on designing a custom airbox for a motorbike.
Creating a perfect fitting for after-market parts can be difficult and time-consuming by hand. Hand measurements can lead to errors that stack with each other, leading to improper fittings and waste of material.
In this video we'll discuss the steps done to take a 3D scan of the bikes frame and quickly reverse engineer different reference bodies inside of SOLIDWORKS using the Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS add-in. By using these reference bodies we'll have a perfect outline of the bikes geometry to model around and create the airbox.
