This exercise introduces the idea of setting the metronome to half time. Up to this point we've heard the metronome click four times per measure as either four downbeats or four upbeats. Now we will take half of those clicks away. Think of the metronome like a set of training wheels where our goal is to slowly remove them as your own sense of time improves.
