Green activists, students and residents on Monday continued to protest against felling of trees and demanding nature-based planning in urban development.
They staged demonstration in Dhanmondi area of the capital.
The demonstrators demanded to stop tree-trading in the name of taking up new projects for development.
They also demanded to plant new saplings in places where trees were cut down.
They warned that they would besiege the Dhaka South City Corporation office on May 21 if their demands were not met by the time.
Their other demands included taking opinions of public and professionals while finalising and implementing development plans for park and roads.
The green activists started to protest against the tree felling on the Sat Majsid road from January this year, the organisers said.
Earlier, green activists and local residents in Dhanmondi formed human chains from May 5 to May 7 protesting at the DSCC’s move to cut about 200 trees on the road divider of Satmasjid Road for development works.
