Judo Bank Chief Economic Advisor Warren Hogan says the Albanese government is failing to address the “underlying problem” of inflationary cost pressures in Australia.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has begun preparing for a May election following advice from Treasurer Jim Chalmers, who has pushed for a budget-focused campaign.

“(This is) driven by a combination of really stimulatory fiscal policy, massive government spending, and I think interest rates that aren’t quite high enough,” Mr Hogan told Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
