A walkthrough of the second holiday home that we took up residence in while at Castlepoint. We enjoyed staying here so much we arranged an extra night! This house has strong connexions to the Lighthouse. Initially we thought it was one of the former keeper residences (as is largely expressed in this vlog). However the owner has informed us that in fact the house was built upon the former Power House building that once held the generators that ran the lighthouse before the grid was taken out to the 'Point. Eventually a gen-set was moved into the base of the tower itself during automation in the 1980s and this Power House was discontinued. So the bottom level of this home is actually what was the genny shed!
