Her appearance at the Olympics as part of a three strong Brazilian team highlighted her abilities and with the step up to middle distance racing she has showed she can compete with the best around.

Her ambitions of becoming the first ever South American athlete to compete in the Collins Cup are within reach with a strong performance at the PTO Canadian Open.

Could she be the catalyst for a whole new wave of Brazilian triathletes? Time will tell.
