Rhythm play along to secure understanding of rhythm in music.
Crotchet and crotchet rest in 3/4 time! Counting along with 123 as the students follow the rhythm will reinforce the feel of this time signature.

Method:
L1 Say - "sky" for crotchets and "shh" for rests. A long "fly" for minim and "balloon" for quavers. Dotted rhythm "flying", semiquavers "elevating", triplet "air balloon"
L2 Say and Play (Clap or Tap or use instruments) - Say "sky" for crotchets and "shh" for rests. A long "fly" for minim and "balloon" for quavers. Dotted rhythm "flying", semiquavers "elevating", triplet "air balloon"
L3 Play (Clap or Tap or use instruments) Say rhythm using thinking voices if necessary.


Suitable for EYFS with guidance, KS1, KS2 and beyond to secure synchronicity to music with the beat of the track.

Extra Challenge: Ask the students to come up with their own one beat sound words and actions for the symbols.
