Q TIP TYPE BEAT 2020 "Ghosts Eat Thoughts" lofi hip hop instrumental - this really is super slick! I call this beat ‘Ghosts Eat Thoughts’ partly because it’s got a real soulful vibe about it that I’m proud of as well as the lyrics you can hear in this video here;

For those that regularly watch my videos you might recognise this beat from a video of me making a lofi hip hop beat whilst drunk up in London. In creating this beat you’ll notice I borrowed very heavily from the likes of artists such as Q Tip and the broad work of A Tribe Called Quest. No less the late great J Dilla. It’s no secret that the work from ‘The Ummah’, and the subgenres of Neo Soul and lofi hip hop are very significant influences on me. It’s also been fun using this as an opportunity to experiment with some lofi edits of videos. Some might argue that at this point that style has been done to death and is oversaturated. But hey, I’m enjoying it right now and hopefully all this experimentation will give me an opportunity to push some more artistic boundaries.

No art is created in a vacuum. Everyone has been influenced by someone or something one way or another. So I personally think it’s fine to take the adage, ‘learn, apply, modify’ when creating, as long as you’re honest about your influences and give credit where it’s due!
