Two descendants of Nanjing Massacre survivors were invited to speak to cinema-goers in Nanjing during a screening of "Dead to Rights." Audience members were moved to tears by the story of Chinese civilians who risked their lives to preserve photographic evidence of Japanese war crimes during the occupation of Nanjing.
"I wish more people could go to the cinema to watch this film, especially overseas audiences, so that history cannot be forgotten," said Wang Lian, granddaughter of survivor Wang Heng, who passed away in 2022.
