He and his sister noticed that the woman was crying a bit as she handed the dog over. She said that she was looking for a dog daycare center and wanted to pay day by day since she didn't have a lot of money.
The man agreed without thinking too much. However, she hasn't pay her bills after a couple of days. The man asked her to pick up her dog but she blocked him.
Realizing that he's been scammed he was upset. Looking at the dog, he felt bad. Then, over the next couple of days, he was finding dog food left by the front window often. He didn't know where the food came from and didn't trust it so he threw them away.
A couple weeks later, he caught the girl looking into the window and she told him the truth. But she demanded to see her dog first. He let her see the dog. The girl revealed that her family doesn't like dogs and never approved of her having a dog but she got one anyway.
After several fights, she had no choice but to bring the dog over to the closest place she could leave her dog. It's hard for her to say goodbye so she didn't want to abandon him outright. She apologized for leaving her dog and not paying the bills.
The man was sympathetic and offered to look after her dog for her until she graduated next year and find a job. Then, she can find her own place and take her dog back.
The girl was very grateful. Thankfully, the cost of adding one more dog to the feeding schedule wasn't too much since the man operates a dog daycare center and also sells dog at his shop.
