This young girl has cancer. She was diagnosed at 19 years old. Doctor only have her 3 months to live. It effects her lower leg on one side. The doctor had told her that she may need an amputation but she refused. She said that the doctor told her her chance of survival wouldn't be high even with leg amputation so she decided to keep it for now.
She has undergone multiple surgeries and chemo therapy. However, she can't tell her parents. Her parents have limited understanding of what is going on especially her mother who has the mental capacity of a 3 year old. Her father is deaf.
Her grandmother helps out the family a lot. That day, they were on their way to the market to sell vegetables. After learning her story, the woman bought all the vegetables from them and helped her regain her confidence.
Despite her hardships, the girl is very selfless. She said that she was glad it's her and not her parents as they have limited ways to communicate and they wouldn't be able to voice their concerns.
Her mother although doesn't understand everything shows that she cares by stroking the girl's leg when she returns from treatment. She also tries her best to make the girl laugh.
I feel very bad for her. It's as though life hasn't been tough enough having a deaf father and a mentally incapacitated mother living in a rural village. And just when she's supposed to be enjoying her life as a young adult, this tragedy struck. I hope she understands how strong she is and have faith in her treatment.
