Humanity is Totally Evil, Christ is the Cure | John MacArthur | People are sinful from the moment they are born, trapped in a nature that rebels against God and loves sin. The Bible says “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me” (Psalm 51:5). We are not just sinners by choice—we are slaves to sin, powerless to free ourselves. Jesus said “Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin” (John 8:34). No amount of effort or good deeds can break these chains. But God, in His mercy, provided the only way out—Jesus Christ. Through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection, He offers complete forgiveness and freedom to all who trust in Him. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Only Jesus can rescue us from the grip of sin and make us new. |
