TO DOWNGRADE:
**Causes of the Problem:**
iOS 17.5 may pose issues, and downgrading is a solution. However, Apple's support for specific firmware versions impacts the downgrade possibility.
**Solution: Downgrade to iOS 17.2 or Earlier**
Ensure your iPhone model supports the desired firmware version for downgrade.
**Steps:**
**Step 1 - Turn Off Find My iPhone:**
In Settings, tap your profile, and disable Find My iPhone.
**Step 2 - Create A Back-Up:**
Connect your phone to iTunes, create a local backup, or use iCloud for data backup.
**Step 3 - Downgrade with ReiBoot:**
ReiBoot provides a simplified alternative to iTunes for downgrading.
- Connect your device, and click the downgrade button in ReiBoot.
- Select Downgrade; it auto-detects the version.
- The process is straightforward with minimal errors.
**Step 3 (Alternative) - Downgrade with iTunes:**
If you prefer iTunes, here's an alternative method.
- Download the iOS 17 IPSW file from IPSW.me.
- In iTunes, hold the shift key, click Restore iPhone, and select the IPSW file.
- Confirm, and your iPhone will downgrade from iOS 17.5 to iOS 17.2
iTunes may prompt an error; consider using ReiBoot as an alternative method.
**Step 4 - Restore from Backup:**
Regardless of the method, a reset is needed. Restore the backup, but make adjustments for iOS 17 compatibility.
- Open the Run dialog by holding the Win and R keys, type %appdata%, and navigate to Apple Computer, MobileSync.
- If no Backup folder, type %userprofile% and go to Apple, MobileSync.
- Open the Backup folder and find the most recent backup.
- Open info in Notepad, search for "product," and change the iOS version to 17.2.
- Save the file and start the restore process in iTunes.
