Lyrics and meaning behind them;
"Sophistical monstrosity
Deceivers at the fore
Malignant philosophies
The truth they do abhor
Cyclical Meandering
Ancient woes unearthed
Paradoxical maze
Of intoxicating mirth"
- This is talking about how from the beginning of the Church age, and for that matter, since Eden, there has always been a battle for truth. The enemy seems to have a way of repackaging the same lies in different forms. 2 Corinthians 11:14 says he masquerades as an angel of light. He will always package the lie in a way that is appealing to the flesh.
"Where is the Wise man?
The philosopher of this Age?"
- This is straight from 1 Corinthians 1:20
"Definitive repression
The truth is redefined
Resulting in regression
While the faithful are maligned"
- This is talking about how in both society and in many Churches that pleasant sounding lies are being promoted while those who stand for truth are being maligned. The perpetrators of the nonsense see themselves as being part of a progression in both circles yet as a society we are clearly REGRESSING. When the Church bends over backwards to accommodate the world we become like the world.
"Where is the Wise Man?
The philosopher of this age?
Anthropocentric prophet?
The self-inflated sage?"
- Once again the quote from Paul in Corinthians but this time with some elaboration and taking a stab at the man-centred "prophets" and "the self-inflated sage". Once again, this is a problem in both secular philosophy and the Church.
"Man appointed heralds
Of a twisted paradigm
Infidelity enthroned
And hailed as divine"
- I think this is fairly self-explanatory once people understand everything else I have explained about the lyrics. But in a nutshell we can tremble with Isaiah and remember his words in Isaiah 5;20 - "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter."
"Apostasy of Sophistical Monstrosity"
There you have it, when we depart from old-fashioned Bible-based doctrine, we have departed from the faith, regardless of what we call it.
