The teacher noted that he sometimes like pretending plastic containers were shoes for fun and often is alone while other students are talking to each other. He also likes to suddenly lay on the ground but then the next moment he's up and running around happily helping to clean up the bathroom.
When he sees that the trash can is full, he would throw it away for the teacher without being asked. He's a very sweet boy. Despite being bullied and facing coldness from other students for being "weird" he would still share candies with them.
When the teacher finally asked why he doesn't wear shoes that's when he realized that the boy wasn't just being stubborn, he had no shoes. He said his shoes were broken and he borrows his sister's when there's gym class and return it afterwards.
Hearing this, the teacher decided to surprise him and gave him new pairs of shoes but even then he still thought of ways to turn down the offer worried it cost the teacher too much.
