He has no ties to his former life. He's completedly by himself with no parents or wife or children. Luckily, he saw a gemstone dealer and stopped him. The gemstone dealer was there to deal jades.
And the miner happened to have dug out 2 jades after months' of backbreaking labor. He also dug out some not so worthy stones. But the miner was only interested in the jade. They were beautiful.
The miner lives at a hotel nearby, and it cost him money to live there every night. He was desperate to make some deals. He couldn't go home without making anything.
The businessman was understanding. He knew how hard the job is and how it's only the people who have no other choices who would do this kind of job.
The miner wanted $3k for one and $20k for another. The businessman took a look at the stones and realized that the miner had underestimated one of the stones. He was honest, knowing how hard the job is and even offered to pay $500 more.
Later on, he also drove the miner back to his hotel and took him out to get dinner. A truly kind businessman. They didn't film those parts but it's said in the video. Let's hope he succeeds!
