The 9th edition of Leathertech Bangladesh 2023, an international trade show on machinery, components, chemicals and accessories for leather, footwear and travel goods sector, began in the capital Dhaka on Thursday.
The ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd has organised the three-day trade show at the International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital.
Nanda Gopal, director of ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, inaugurated the exhibition along with the exhibitors participated in the exposition.
He said, ‘Participation from China has revived as their participation for the current edition is significant, which reflects the potential of the footwear and leather products sector in Bangladesh.’
‘Over the years Leathertech Bangladesh has established itself as ‘the leather industry networking forum’ for the footwear and travels sector. The exhibition profile is comprehensive and the local industry can benefit from the presence of global leaders at the three-day show,’ he added.
The exhibition is open from 11:00am to 7:00pm in November 2-4.
Some 200 exhibitors from 10 countries are participating in the event.
The Council for Leather Exports, the Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association and the Confederation of Indian Footwear Industry from India have also set up their pavilions.
The Leathergoods and Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh has extended the lead support for the event.
The Bangladesh Tanners Association, the Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leather-goods and Footwear Exporters Association and the Bangladesh Paduka Prostutkarak Samity have also extended their support.
Alok Jain, treasurer of the Confederation of India, Ashraf Uddin, vice-president of the Bangladesh Paduka Prostutkarok Samity, and Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, managing director of ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, among others, were present.
