Insecurity has been the major challenge in Burkina Faso and other countries in the Sahel region. This insecurity was a spillover effect of the destruction of Libya by NATO and France. After Muammar Gaddafi’s death, Libya was thrown into chaos. The government was dissolved and insurgents took advantage of the situation to form armed rebel groups. These groups began to move around the region abducting people and selling them to slavery as well as terrorizing the innocent. Throughout all this, the West did absolutely nothing to help stop the crisis that erupted after their failed intervention. This is why we say that whenever the West comes into Africa, to meddle and interfere, they usually cause problems, which they end up leaving for African countries to deal with alone.
