a.k.a. sleeping pigeon
Gouache on 8 x 10 Yellow Pastel Paper
This small painting looks different from the perspective you imagine it. When I first saw the paint splatter I was working from it seemed like a floating bird mask from a profile view. But then someone said it looked like a sleeping pigeon from above. Like it had its head tucked into its wing. I see both versions now although the background I painted to be more like an underwater scene. I think it does also resemble the corner of a street from above with debris gathered around the edges of a curb. Either way, there's an egg at the bottom.
