Six restaurant workers killed in Chawkbazar fire

At least six people were burnt to death in a fire at a restaurant in Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area on Monday while a plastic toy warehouse in the building was also gutted.
All the deceased were workers of the hotel and had been sleeping in the wooden makeshift structure inside the restaurant at Chawkbazar’s Kamalbagh area.
The fire that broke out at about 12:00 noon was brought under control after about two and a half hours, officials at the control room of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters said.
