Support Noel's Retro Lab on Patreon: We revisit the Spectravideo 328 with so many issues from a few weeks back. We start by trying to test out new video RAM (VRAM) from a ZX Spectrum low-RAM module but I run into some issues. Then I test it with some 4164 chips modded to be used as 4116 and it works fine, so I go ahead and mod 8 new ones to use here.
Things were looking good at this point, so I start replacing some of the ugly bridges in the back when... we stop getting video again! I don't have a similar computer to just replace chips, so I run some tests, and it looks like the VDP might be faulty.
That means waiting for a few weeks until a replacement arrives. Bummer!
