Tiffany Reid is a Canadian painter and mixed media artist whose work will appear on view at the Agora Gallery in New York City from June 27 – July 17, 2019, as part of the exhibition “Summer Idyll”. Reid uses unique and non-traditional techniques involving various media such as isopropyl, textured pastes, resin, and recycled materials. Her images have an enchanting and ephemeral quality. The textured surfaces of Reid’s works capture both the rugged power and delicate beauty of the natural world. With their rich texture, Reid’s paintings invite the viewer to touch them, question them, and to be captivated by them.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Reid states that the currents of the ocean and the strong presence of nature that is characteristic of the Northwest region have had a major influence on her work. Through her images, Reid seeks to create an emotional and sensorial journey for the viewer, transporting them beyond themselves to experience the sublime. In her work, Reid strives to communicate the deep connection and affinity that exists between mankind and nature.
