After doing the giant collab with Jules () I realised how bad my tones are, and also how complacent I had gotten with my mixing. In the video my tones sounded muddy and just washed out compared to everyone else's and Jules did the best to make them work but he only had so much to work with and that was my fault.
So this week I spent a lot of time redoing my tones and my mixing. I noticed just how bass-y my covers were and how my lead tones were really washed out . Listening back to last week's Sherlock cover I can hear just how muddy everything had gotten.
So I hope you think this one is an improvement, I personally think it sounds heavier and it's much clearer than my previous covers.
I was really hesitant to do this one because when I originally listened to the song a couple of months ago I couldn't figure out how to do it any differently because it was already on guitar. Even halfway through doing the song I realised I was just copying the original exactly, so then I decided to make it heavier, which I think is fitting for the show, and it goes along with how I did my Daredevil cover, I made that one super heavy so I had to try and make this just as heavy.
