Before moving to Hotel California, Eagles sought their visual style. Desperado’s cover showcases them in cowboy gear. Musically, they shine. “Doo-lin-Dalton” opens wistfully. “Tequila Sunrise” and “Outlaw Man” are singles. The title track, a grand piano ballad recorded at Island Studios with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, endures as a classic. Released in April, 1973.
