Haleakala National Park on Maui, also known as the "house of the sun," is a dormant volcano and bucket list destination for many visitors! It towers over the island and rises about 10,023 feet above sea level. It is approximately 33,265 acres in size and the crater itself measures approximately 20 miles in circumference. In fact, the crater is so massive that it can fit the entire island of Manhattan!
