Part 2: The Heart of Liyue
One of the things I liked the most about the original is how warm and tender it sounds. So many of the chords and little melodies just make me smile with their gentle majesty, and it almost brings about a feeling of reverie in light of what it represents for the adepti in the Genshin lore.
I had recorded an unreleased version of another arranger's version of this over a year ago, but I never released it. The main difference with mine compared to others though is that I take more interpretive freedom with the middle section in the way that it builds - many others follow the original and only build slightly, but for me, that's a moment where the stories of Liyue suddenly become real, and their full beauty and majesty are unveiled in a catharsis of passion.
Aside from that I added a few things here and there to fill out the arrangement and make it feel more representative of the original instrumentation. Needless to say, this is one of my favorite arrangements in this album.
