For those asking, no, you cannot use i7 CPUs in this board -- Core series CPUs do not support multi CPU setups. Only Xeon does.
Yes, you can use non-ECC RAM, but I wouldn't suggest it.
You should honestly consider hiring a pro PC builder like PCAudioLabs if you're going to build a dual Xeon workstation system. Xeon is VERY TRICKY to build and if you do not do it right, you will have literally spent THOUSANDS of dollars without a system to show for it. Building a computer isn't always rocket science, but it also isn't something that just everyone should do, sorry about it.
