Hailey Bieber is facing backlash over her latest beauty release, with customers already returning their Rhode products just days after launch.
Rhode, the American skincare brand Hailey founded in 2022, offers a range of products including facial cleansers, lotions, lip balms, and blushes.
However, after the latest launch, many users are taking to TikTok to express their disappointment with the products, even reporting that they’ve been allegedly getting breakouts.
Some influencers have gone into more detail, explaining that one of the ingredients in the ‘glazing milk’ product could be causing the breakouts.
Coconut alkanes are a natural, oily liquid ingredient derived from coconut oil fatty acids through hydrogenation.
They are used commonly in beauty products as an alternative to silicon, and they provide a smooth, non greasy feel.
They have been known to trigger breakouts in certain people, though the risk doesn’t apply to everyone.
Some users have also reported experiencing grainy textures in lip treatments, particularly with the Rare Beauty Lip Oil.
Users in the comment section have been divided, with some arguing that reviews for Rhode have been bad from the start.
Others have jumped to Hailey’s defence, arguing “if you have sensitive skin, look up any ingredients before using them.”
As the backlash continues, reviews remain split - while some users swear by Rhode, others say the products just aren’t for them.
Neither Rhode nor Hailey herself has yet addressed the reviews.
