It all started 30 years ago when a typhoon recked the village and many fishermen lost their lives trying to save their livelihood.
He realized that if they had a rock barrier to shelter their boats and themselves from the storm, they would've have lost their lives at sea. So he began moving rocks all by himself. Sometimes with help of cows and family. He went through 20 cows.
When his family help him, they were made fun of too. But today, he has cleared a path for boats to dock. Using his own two hands. He even spent his own money to reshape the coastline so the coast is stronger and sturdier. He planted trees to allow residents to be shielded by strong storms Whenever storms came and recked the rock barrier, he would fix it with his own two hands.
When fishermen's equipment were stolen, he made sure to catch the thieves himself. But he didn't turn them in. In exchange for anonymity, he made them promise they would return everything and they did. He kept the promises and never revealed who it was. And they have 0 thieves today.
He wasn't crazy or stupid after all. And it took decades but the village realized what he has done for them. He even attracted tourists and brought money into the village. They often leave him gifts of fish now. And his grand children and children no longer the subject of ridicule. Instead, they become a local hero.
