About Torkuma:
While Torkuma’s art depicts a history full of suffering, loss and the need to be free from the oppressive order that existed. His transformation came from the soft side of wishing to relate deeper with the African heritage as well as the hard side of advocating for the oppressed who are silenced in the midst of many injustices. In his latest music, he includes a befitting social consciousness, a political consciousness and a sense of self within an unfettered sound that draws textures from Afrobeat, neo-soul and modern-day sounds.

About HHR:
HHR was a non-profit digital label based out of San Diego, California. Our sole purpose was to provide a space for underrepresented and marginalised artists from countries outside of North America and Western Europe (aside from indigenous peoples and ethnic and linguistic minorities) to showcase their music. Unfortunately due to time constraints the label was dissolved, however this channel remains as a place to promote the work of talented artists globally.
