In the 2007 Gina and I traveled to the Yucatan peninsula. The area boasts vast underwater canals and Cenotes, giant holes said to have been created by meteor showers. This gives the region special chemical (healing) properties not discovered anywhere else on earth. We visited all of the available pyramid structures that were open. We specifically went for the equinox event of that year at the Grand Pyramid at Chichen Itza. The event consisted of a shadow being cast down the side of the pyramid and resting at the base of the stairs where a giant serpent head sits illuminated by the sun. The illusion is that of a giant serpent due to the sun projecting a jagged edge resembling snake skin on the limestone surface of the nine-level step pyramid design. This phenomenon is one of the seven wonders of the world. This structure in addition to the one at Tulum served as proof of the Mastery of the cycles of time relative to the procession of multiple cycles at once-the planetary cycles around the sun, and the solar system around the Milky Way Galaxy. This approximates to about 26,000 years. With an universal expansion factor of twenty (using the Mayan base twenty system), the axis points have shifted slightly. The event brought some forty thousand plus spectators.
