Renault Zoe "Check ELECTRICAL system" error and how to fix it.

The Renault Zoe likes to throw up error messages on the dash which often unnecessarily scares the owner. A very common one is "Check ELECTRIC system". In this video, I go through the most likely causes of this "check electric system" fault on the Renault Zoe.
By far, the most likely cause is the 12V auxiliary battery getting low or gone flat. You can solve this by replacing the 12 battery (see ) or by charging it with a mains charger.
Rodent damage could also be a cause as mice can often make a home under the bonnet in an EV. Due to the lack of oil and fumes, rodents do crawl up inside and can chew wires and hoses. Any damage to the wiring will throw this error message. Check under the bonnet for mice droppings and chewing on the cables.
On older Zoe's, the other cause of the "Check ELECTRIC system" is the water pump. Its not because the water pump has failed, but simply because Renault built in a perceived lifespan of the water pump by recording the number of pump revolutions. When the counter hits this lifespan number, it displays the "Check ELECTRIC system" message on the dashboard. This is called the "driving water pump ageing counter".
The diagnostic scanner I use in this video is a Autel MaxiCheck MX808TS scanner.
