In the sixth episode of Egil's Saga (Chapters 50-57) we learn of Egil Skallagrimsson's battle with King Olaf on behalf of King Æthelstan of England. Reading from the 1893 translation by WC Green which is in the public domain. This story was first written down in Iceland in 1240 AD by "Anonymous" but many people believe it to be the work of Snorri Sturluson.
