Export Options

You’ve found all your sounds in Loopcloud, now what? There are a number of ways you can get your sound files out of the Loopcloud app.

The simplest way is dragging and dropping if you are just looking for the unaltered version of any file in your library. You can drop into your DAW or onto your Desktop. You can also do this with files in the store, but you will be prompted to use your points first, then you will need to re-do the drag and drop.

If you have been using the multitracks or manipulating the sounds using the built-in editing and effects, you will want to use the Export button. The Export button has a number of options in it and they can be accessed by pressing the down facing arrow next to the Export button.

Export Preferences

This drop down is where you can choose how the files are exported from Loopcloud.

Current Mix– This will export everything you can hear in Loopcloud when you hit play as one single file. This will include all 8 tracks in the multitrack, any effects or editing you’ve done and any pitch or tempo changes you’ve made. The file will be as long as the longest file in the multitrack. This option is great to use on anything from 1 single track to 8 tracks.

Original File– This will export the original version of the sound on the track you selected last, without any effects or editing you’ve done and any pitch or tempo changes you’ve made.

Processed Separate Files - This will export everything you can hear in Loopcloud when you hit play as separate files – one file for each track you have unmuted in the multitrack. This will include any effects or editing you’ve done and any pitch or tempo changes you’ve made. The files will be as long as you have them set in the multitrack, so each file may be a different length. This option is great for moving your sketches, ideas or song starters from Loopcloud to your DAW or a folder on your computer so you can get working on arrangement, or save them in a folder for later. You can also use this option to load your processed sounds into the sampler of your choice in one easy drag and drop.

Original Separate Files - This will export everything you can hear in Loopcloud when you hit play as separate files – one file for each track you have unmuted in the multitrack. This will not include any effects or editing you’ve done and any pitch or tempo changes you’ve made. The files will be as long as you have them set in the multitrack, so each file may be a different length. This is a great option if you’d like to export the unprocessed sounds from your multitrack to process in your DAW later, or load them into the sampler of your choice in one easy drag and drop.

Dragging hides Loopcloud - when enabled, the Loopcloud app window will be hidden while files are being dragged so you can easily bring the files into another program.

Show Loopcloud after drag - when Enabled will automatically show Loopcloud after the dragging is released.

The Advanced Export Preferences include the ability to Normalize the audio files. Normalize means make sure the highest peak is at 0 dB. You can also specify a custom folder which will contain all your exported sounds. When enabled you will want to specify the custom folder location below.

Exporting your audio is essential and Loopcloud lets you do it the way you want.
