Shoutout to everyone asking about this! Here's my thoughts on the process of learning coordinated patterns, including some of the common pitfalls students often fall into, in my experience.

We'll use as an example the single paradiddle with "boom-chick" foot pattern, as it appears in grade 1 Trinity Drum Kit - as this is often asked about/described as a challenging pice of coordination to nail down for beginner drummers.
