Leopold is a DJ and radio host hailing from North London with a passion for music of all shapes and forms. Having been exposed to a lot of soul and jazz at a young age, this influence has been ever-present since he first put a needle to a record. His long-running and passionately curated radio show 'The Natural Element’, currently monthly on Soho Radio, is a feel good journey into his expansive taste, blurring genre boundaries and merging the old with the new. Leopold is a regular at the esteemed institutions Spiritland and Brilliant Corners, and in recent years has had festival appearances at Kala, El Dorado and We Out Here. With a new monthly residency under his belt at the intimate Servant Jazz Quarters and some exciting plans ahead, the future looks bright for this unique selector.

Leopold takes a dive into the Nu Jazz movement which took off in the 90's and 2000's in countries like Germany, Japan and the UK. Blending the world of jazz with other genres such as electronic, funk and hip hop, it created a vibrant and experimental fusion that influenced many artists and future scenes. Leopold selects some classic records from the era which also informed a lot of his early musical taste.
