We're brand new parents to a wonderful baby girl, and when we were planning our travels for this summer, we thought it might be nice to try something new and easier. We settled on a family cruise to Alaska aboard NCL's Norwegian Sun.
In this video, we'll be giving you a full tour of the ship from top to bottom. Plus, we'll also show you what it's like travelling in an inside stateroom - it was surprisingly spacious and we didn't mind not having a window!

This 7-day journey up the coast of Alaska includes stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka, and Glacier Bay. 🚪 Room Tour: Inside the Inner Cabin
- First Impressions & Storage Solutions
We’re staying in a cozy inner room (no window/balcony), but it’s surprisingly spacious! Upon entry, you’ll find a large closet on the right, complete with plenty of hangers and shelving for organized packing (packing cubes are a must!). We were impressed by the amount of storage space—three drawers, room for our suitcases, backpacks, and baby’s essentials.
- Kid-Friendly Features
The crew promptly delivered a baby-sized life jacket for Aurelia, highlighting the family-friendly touches throughout the ship.
- Room Amenities & Layout
There’s a dedicated desk with ample outlets, a phone, and a mirror for those essential outfit checks. The room features a couch, an overhead pull-down bed (great for extra guests or kids), and a comfortable king-size bed.
- Entertainment Options
Catch your route live via the ship’s map channel or get inspired by the onboard excursion channel, which showcases tempting tours.
🛁 Bathroom Breakdown: Surprising Comfort!
- Efficient Use of Space
Despite being in one of the “cheapest” inner cabins, the bathroom feels roomy. There’s a round shower with curtain, built-in conditioning shampoo and body wash dispensers, a drying line for hand-washed laundry.
- Family Friendly Details
Three sets of towels, hand towels, and washcloths—even baby gets her own! The sink area is well organized with extra TP, a soap dispenser, and plenty of space for toiletries.
- Shower Quality
The water pressure is strong and fully adjustable, ideal for piping hot showers after chilly excursions.

4th Floor: Accommodation Hub 🛏️
All rooms here—no views, just endless corridors reminiscent of a never-ending hotel. Handy ship maps on every floor make navigation easy.
5th Floor: Main Dining & Cuisine 🍽️
Home to the Four Seasons and Seven Seas restaurants—our go-to spots for complimentary dining (far superior to the buffet for quality). Also includes reservation-only specialty dining like Lauchina Italian Restaurant and the Atrium Café & Bar (don’t miss the macaroons and fancy coffee!).
Seasick Bags & Choppy Seas
It’s a real cruise: seasick bags are provided for those sensitive to motion (luckily, no major incidents yet!).
6th Floor: Entertainment Central 🎭
The ship’s busiest floor—Stardust Theater, Bliss Ultra Lounge, Wind Jammer Bar (perfect for cigars & retro vibes), shopping, the library (multilingual books!), photo studios, internet café, jogging track, and more.
7th Floor: More Action & Luxury 🛍️
Features the casino, champagne bar, high-end shops (watches, cameras, luxury goods), and additional staterooms. There’s also an art gallery and theatre.
8th–10th Floors: Staterooms Galore 🚪
These floors are purely for accommodations!
11th Floor: Sun, Pools, and Buffets 🌞🍹
