🗣️ Q&A with MUSYS 🗣️
💡 What sparked your interest in digging/collecting?
I've always loved dancing and the body's connection to sound. My dad, who also loved music, would share CDs with me. Near his workplace in Amman was a record shop, where I'd beg the owner to make me mixtapes. I'd head home, play the CD, and dance around my bedroom. My CD player was even covered in pink nail polish.
🔍 Where do you find your music?
I dig for my music through Bandcamp, Spotify, record shops, and recommendations from friends.
🎶 Any label/artist/collective recommendations for someone to start digging?
I really like Well Street Records and Zaatar (producer, DJ). As for a collective, I'd recommend the Majazz Project.
🌟 Is there anyone that you take inspiration from?
I take a lot of inspiration from Carista, DJ, producer, and United Identities boss. She's a super eclectic DJ who plays by her own rules. I'm also a fan of her label United Identities, which pushes the cool musical history of the Netherlands forward through sets, productions, and parties.
