He was likely very ill. The photographer could sense their sorrow and despair and decided to do something for the family. He secretly took their picture and rushed to a nearby dumpling shop.
There he ordered something for the mother and child. He quickly printed out the picture, wrote a message, and stuffed everything inside the bag. He then asked a passersby to hand the bag to the unsuspecting mother.
She was confused at first and guarded but as soon as she saw the picture, her guard dropped. She took everything out but it was the letter that moved her to tears.
The message was simple, the man acknowledge her effort and hoped the meal would give them the energy and motivation to keep fighting.
There are many others like her with sick children fighting hard battles both physically and internally. The photographer hope everyone will win their battles.
