The film was scheduled for release in 2020, but was postponed to 2021 due to a coronavirus pandemic. Billie Eilish is the youngest creator of the title theme song for a Bond film, being 18 years old at the time of recording. The song won a Grammy Award. The idea for the song belongs to Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell, and Oscar winner Hans Zimmer took an active part in the arrangement and recording. The music video for the song was directed by Daniel Kleinman, creator of the credits for the James Bond films.

Sam Smith's song Writing's on the Wall is the main musical theme song of the 2015 film 007: Spectre. The song won Golden Globe and Oscar awards and became the first Bond theme song to reach number one on the British music charts.

Tina Turner's song GoldenEye is the theme song of the 1995 film GoldenEye. The composers of the song are Bono and Edge from the band U2. The music video for the song was directed by Jake Scott, director of the movie Welcome to Riley and son of four-time Academy Award nominee Ridley Scott. A version of the song for the movie was also recorded by the band Ace of Base; in 2002, a reworked version of the song was included on their album Da Capo.
