This happens because, with ADHD, our brain’s dopamine and serotonin levels (the chemicals that help us feel motivated and focused) can fluctuate quickly. You start with a surge of energy, but once those levels dip, finishing the task feels impossible. It’s frustrating, but it’s also a common ADHD experience.
The key is to recognize that this is how your brain works and to break tasks down into smaller steps or take breaks to recharge. You can still get it done, just in a way that works with your brain, not against it.
