In this clip, Consequence opens up about how he began rapping as a way to cope with the loss of his grandmother. Consequence describes her as the backbone of the family and still considers her funeral to be the saddest day of his life. Later, Consequence tells DJ Vlad about how he came up with his stage name. From there, he looks back on the release of the debut album from A Tribe Called Quest in 1990 and the success that his cousin Q-Tip enjoyed when the LP when gold. From there, he talks about the success of the group's follow-up album, Low End Theory (1991), before detailing their evolution from a sound influenced by the Zulu Nation to music from their native borough of Queens. Elsewhere in the interview, Consequence explains that he came into the picture as feature on "The Chase, Part II" by A Tribe Called Quest.
