The chances of asteroid 2024 YR4 hitting Earth in 2032 are now very slim, according to the latest data from NASA, which has been adjusting its projections almost daily. But the news China was advertising for a three-person “planetary defense force” to combat the threat of asteroids colliding with Earth drew attention on social media there.
